More About Dr. Johnston, DC

Dr. Juilene H. Johnston, DC, specializes in various manual therapy techniques aimed at promoting optimal healing and well-being for her patients. Whether you are experiencing issues related to your spine, joints, nerves, abdominal or pelvic scars and adhesions, head injuries, or other concerns, Dr. Johnston is here to help.

Her treatments are the result of over 30 years of study under skilled teachers from around the world, in addition to her chiropractic education. Driven by a passion for helping people heal, she continuously engages in further training, assists in classes, and leads study groups throughout the year.

Dr. Johnston’s practice is also influenced by her personal experiences as an athlete—she competed at the national level in swimming for 12 years, practiced martial arts, participated in horseback riding and horse training, and enjoys yoga, jogging, and hiking. Additionally, she is a mother of four young adult children.

    • Hakomi for Body Workers with Morgan Halford with the Hakomi Institute (a year-long training)
    • Attachment-Based Yoga and Meditation for Trauma Recovery with Deirdre Fay (another year-long study program)
    • Multiple workshops with Trauma Recovery expert Ruby Jo Walker and other trauma recovery studies.
  • Pelvic Floor Therapy for both men and women using external and internal approaches with the Barral Institute and Lauren Rose, MSPT, who is Dr. Johnston’s mentor and teacher. From 2016 – April 2025, Dr. Johnston ran the pelvic floor therapy for Northwest New Mexico Women’s Health Specialists’ four B/GYN’s in conjunction with her own practice.

  • Master Reiki Practitioner – Dr. Johnston incorporates many energy modalities when appropriate, with Reiki being one approach she utilizes to help patients.
